Chris Petty joined Suntex Ventures in May 2010 as Vice President of Operations. He was then promoted in June 2012 to his current position as President of Suntex Marinas.
Prior to Suntex, Mr. Petty was General Manager for Island Global Yachting’s (IGY) flagship property, Yacht Haven Grande, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. Mr. Petty had full P&L and operational responsibility, managed all facets of mall operations at the marina’s luxury retail mall, managed all marina activities including 46 slips accommodating mega yachts up to 450′+ and ensured compliance with Homeland Security and other governmental regulations. Mr. Petty was able to reduce payroll and expenses by $3.5MM in one year while managing the property for IGY.
Before a merger with IGY, Mr. Petty was recruited by Sun Resorts International (SRI) to manage the American Yacht Harbor, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. Mr. Petty was retained by IGY after the merger and continued to manage the marina and all associated operations for four (4) years where he was able to increase revenues by 48% and NOI by 38%.
Mr. Petty attended the University of Arizona, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. He is also a Certified Port Facility Officer and holds a U.S. Coast Guard Master Captain License. Mr. Petty resides in Dallas, Texas with his wife and 2 children.
Vice President of Operations
General Manager of Liberty Landing Marina
Ron TenEyck joined the Suntex team in 2010 when Suntex Marinas acquired Liberty Landing Marina. He now serves as Vice President of Operations for Suntex Marinas as well as General Manager of Liberty Landing Marina in Jersey City, NJ. He started at Liberty Landing Marina in 2006 as Director of Service then was later promoted to General Manager.
Mr. TenEyck’s background spans more than 20 years of experience within the yachting and marine industry. He started his maritime education at Fort Schuyler Merchant Marine Academy and holds various degrees in the marine industry including Certified MerCruiser master technician, US Coast Guard 100-ton Captains license. Ron is a certified technician for many high end yacht companies including Benetti, Uniesse, Sealine, Sunseeker, Searay, to name a few. Currently, he serves on various waterfront councils for the City of New York and the state of New Jersey, specializing in marine improvement and conservation. Ron is renowned for his reputation in the marine service industry, with a large following of very satisfied customers.
As well as his career in the marine industry, Ron is also a professional powerboat racer in his spare time. He has won numerous awards and trophies with his past race teams all over the nation.
Vice President of Information Technology
Christopher Booth is the Vice President of Information Technology at Suntex and is responsible for technology strategy, IT infrastructure, and enterprise application platform. Mr. Booth oversees company and asset wide IT functions. Prior to Suntex Mr. Booth served as both Director of Network Operations and Network Operations Center Manager at Architel, one of the largest managed IT service providers in the state of Texas, serving over 200 clients and 10,000 end users.
Mr. Booth has 15 years of IT experience in various industries including roles with the United States Marine Corps, United States Government, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), Weathermatic and Architel. His primary focus has been enterprise IT architecture, IT strategy, ERP, “SAAS” solutions, enterprise integrations, service-oriented architecture and distributed computing. As a United States Marine, Mr. Booth served in the field of Intelligence and held a TopSecret (TSSCI) clearance. Christopher attended the National Imagery and Mapping College at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia earning U.S. Government Certifications for G.I.S with a focus on battle planning, imagery analysis and operations to geospatial database quality control, population, and management. While in the Marine Corps Mr. Booth attended American Intercontinental University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems with a focus on network security.
Christopher lives in Dallas with his wife and three children. Mr. Booth is an advocate for fellow disabled veterans and their families.
Vice President of Finance
Sean Burleson is Vice President of Finance of Suntex Ventures and has over sixteen years of experience in financial, project and systems management, and business process engineering. His career has been dedicated to enabling business through the thoughtful application and combination of technology with finance. In addition to providing leadership in the finance department for Suntex, he is responsible for multiple human resource functions and technology advancements.
Before joining Suntex in 2013, Sean consulted on ERP, CRM, supply-chain and manufacturing systems for a wide range of clients including Comcast Media, Outdoor Channel, DeVry University, GameStop, Coca-Cola, and most recently with, BKD CPAs and Advisors. He also served as Corporate Controller for a Dallas-based environmental and logistics company.
Sean received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, and was a member of the Accounting Honor Society.
Director of Marina Construction
Before working for Suntex, Justin was Vice President of Floating Dock Supply where he supervised the bidding process, design, installation, and maintenance for various marina facilities. Having worked in the marina industry for the entire length of his professional career, Justin understands marine construction and the best construction practices for the marine environment.
Mr. Thompson attended Trinity University, where he played football and graduated with a bachelors of science in finance and accounting.
Director of Marketing
Josalyn Claussen is Director of Marketing for Suntex and has over 10 years of marketing experience that includes 5 years specific to marinas.
Prior to working for Suntex Marinas, Josalyn was Director of Marketing for Island Global Yachting’s flagship property, Yacht Haven Grande in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. At Yacht Haven Grande, she managed the daily operations for their marketing department, as well as, developed and implemented an integrated marketing plan to facilitate traffic to Yacht Haven’s 46-slip mega-yacht marina and upscale shopping and dining galleria.
Josalyn received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Augustana College in Rock Island, IL, where she majored in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and Communications. She currently maintains residence in Frisco, TX.
Regional Manager, Dallas-Fort Worth Marinas
In 2011, Bryan Walden joined Suntex Marinas, as General Manager of Chandler’s Landing and Captain’s Cove Marinas, and then was promoted to Regional Manager of the five Suntex Marinas in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex in November of 2012.
With more than 20 years of Marina and Property Management experience, Mr. Walden started his career in marinas with Zeke’s Marina in Orange Beach, Alabama right after High School. He then returned to the Gulf Coast after graduating from Auburn University with a degree in Business Administration. Over the course of the next 8 years at Zeke’s, he served as the Marina Manager and was instrumental in becoming the first “Clean Marina” in the state of Alabama. During his time there he achieved and maintained a 100% occupancy level for 300+ slips and had the largest charter fishing fleet on the Gulf Coast. After accepting a position as Director of Operations near Destin, Florida, the focus turned to the turnaround and capital improvements over properties that included 700 dry /100 wet slips, boat yard and repairs, service department, watercraft rentals and boat club.
Bryan holds a 100-ton Master Captain’s License, and he enjoys offshore fishing and working with others on the proper safety and handling of their boat.
