Chris Petty

President

Chris Petty joined Suntex Ventures in May 2010 as Vice President of Operations.  He was then promoted in June 2012 to his current position as President of Suntex Marinas.

Prior to Suntex, Mr. Petty was General Manager for Island Global Yachting’s (IGY) flagship property, Yacht Haven Grande, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. Mr. Petty had full P&L and operational responsibility, managed all facets of mall operations at the marina’s luxury retail mall, managed all marina activities including 46 slips accommodating mega yachts up to 450′+ and ensured compliance with Homeland Security and other governmental regulations. Mr. Petty was able to reduce payroll and expenses by $3.5MM in one year while managing the property for IGY.

Prior to a merger with IGY, Mr. Petty was recruited by Sun Resorts International (SRI) to manage the American Yacht Harbor, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. Mr. Petty was retained by IGY after the merger and continued to manage the marina and all associated operations for four (4) years where he was able to increase revenues by 48% and NOI by 38%.

Mr. Petty attended the University of Arizona, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. He is also a Certified Port Facility Officer and holds a U.S. Coast Guard Master Captain License. Mr. Petty resides in Dallas, Texas with his wife and 2 children.

Jeff Boyd

Managing Partner of the Caribbean

As of August 2011, Jeff Boyd became part of the Suntex Team, as the Managing Partner for the Caribbean.  Mr. Boyd’s background spans over thirty plus years, specializing in the development and operations of marinas, specifically mega-yacht facilities throughout North and South America, Europe, the Middle East and more specifically the Caribbean.  During this time, he has been actively involved in all facets of the marine industry.  His scope of work and experience has been extensive and has afforded him the opportunity to work directly with a variety of ownerships.  These relationships have been forged through completing the design, managing the entire development phases and then moving into operations and marketing of the new marina facilities.

Some of Mr. Boyd’s accomplishments include the design, construction management and operations for both the Yacht Club at Isle De Sol project, as well as, the Yacht Club Port de Plaisance project, both on St Maarten.  Collectively, these two facilities represent one of the largest assemblies of yachts 100 feet and above, docked in any one location at the same time, world wide.   Mr. Boyd later helped form Island Global Yachting (IGY), which included the design, construction oversight and initial set up of Yacht Haven Grande which still today, is arguably one of the most elegant Mega Yacht Marinas ever built.  Mr. Boyd served as Island Global Yachting’s ‘Executive Vice President’, in charge of World Wide Operations for seven years.

Mr. Boyd’s ongoing consulting work for owners desirous to construct marina / boatyard facilities continues today on six separate islands in the Caribbean, as well as various locations in Europe, North and South America.   Mr. Boyd has been an invited guest speaker at several industry trade shows on the topics of customer service, marina management and development, speaking to a variety of audiences at Super Yacht Symposiums and other venues.

In addition to his vast development, management and operations experience, he is also an avid yachtsman and has held a variety of captain licenses and certificates, still enjoying yachting today.   Mr. Boyd resides primarily in St. Maarten with his wife Diana.

Justin Thompson

Director of Construction

Before working for Suntex, Justin was Vice President of Floating Dock Supply where he supervised the bidding process, design, installation, and maintenance for various marina facilities. Having worked in the marina industry for the entire length of his professional career, Justin understands marine construction and the best construction practices for the marine environment.

Mr. Thompson attended Trinity University, where he played football and graduated with a bachelors of science in finance and accounting.

Christopher Booth

Director of Information Technology

Christopher Booth is the Director of Information Technology at Suntex and is responsible for technology strategy, IT infrastructure, and enterprise application platform. Mr. Booth oversees company and asset wide IT functions and reports to the President of Suntex.

Prior to Suntex Mr. Booth served as both Director of Network Operations and Network Operations Center Manager at Architel, one of the largest managed IT service providers in the state of Texas, serving over 200 clients and 10,000 end users.

Mr. Booth has 15 years of IT experience in various industries including roles with the United States Marine Corps, United States Government, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), Weathermatic and Architel.  His primary focus has been enterprise IT architecture, IT strategy, ERP, “SAAS” solutions, enterprise integrations, service-oriented architecture and distributed computing.  As a United States Marine, Mr. Booth served in the field of Intelligence and held a TopSecret (TSSCI) clearance.

Christopher attended the National Imagery and Mapping College at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia earning U.S. Government Certifications for G.I.S with a focus on battle planning, imagery analysis and operations to geospatial database quality control, population, and management. While in the Marine Corps Mr. Booth attended American Intercontinental University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems with a focus on network security. Christopher has also earned multiple certifications in Microsoft technologies, trained in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), and has completed multiple leadership training courses from the Marine Corps University.  Christopher lives in Dallas with his wife and three children.  Mr. Booth is an advocate for fellow disabled veterans and their families.

Josalyn Claussen

Director of Marketing

Prior to working for Suntex Marinas, Josalyn was Director of Marketing for Island Global Yachting’s flagship property, Yacht Haven Grande in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.  At Yacht Haven Grande, she managed the daily operations for their marketing department, as well as, developed and implemented an integrated marketing plan to facilitate traffic to Yacht Haven’s 46-slip mega-yacht marina and upscale shopping and dining galleria.

Josalyn received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Augustana College in Rock Island, IL, where she majored in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and Communications.  She currently maintains residence in Dallas, TX.
